Helping Health Problems

Helping Health Problems with Clinical Hypnotherapy
By: Gwenn Henkel, CMH, MH Certified Medical Hypnotherapist, Master Hypnotherapist

Major Causes of Health Problems

As mysterious as the onset of any of your health problems may seem to be, the general causes are usually quite clear-cut. Most health problems evolve from one of the following situations:

  1. Stress
  2. Inherited
  3. Result of an injury or an accident
  4. HIV / AIDS related
  5. A result from cancer treatment

Setting Up Your Plan of a Lifetime

Regardless of the specific nature of your health problem, your major goal should be one of these two: (1) to reduce the discomfort and pain of a chronic condition or (2) to heal and recover quickly and to maintain good health.

These objectives can be achieved only through the careful construction of a sound (or improved) health platform from which to operate. This platform includes the following:

  1. Good nutrition
  2. The elimination of harmful substances, including cigarettes, alcohol, toxic substances in your environment, and prescriptive drugs that are no longer necessary
  3. The reduction of stimulants
  4. Improved personal safety
  5. Early detection of illness; self-examination and awareness of bodily changes
  6. Reduction of stressful situations and negative conditions in your life
  7. Periodic leisure time scheduled as necessary

The hypnotic inductions that I do with people are designed to help you think, feel, and act in certain ways. They program your subconscious by offering logical and realistic suggestions, as well as imaginative positive suggestions that include imagery. Below are the specific objectives necessary to gain control over your health and to incorporate new behaviors.

  1. Practice relaxation to reduce stress
  2. Visualize and focus on positive images that counteract your specific illness or condition
  3. Visualize and focus on positive images that augment general and total healing
  4. Program your subconscious to maintain good health

Hypnosis can be used to help with such problems as allergies, asthma and bronchial conditions, boosting the immune system, cancer, cardiovascular disorders, Fibromyalgia and other chronic pain conditions, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, depression, colitis, high blood pressure, tension and migraine headaches, muscle spasms, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome just to name a few.

Keep in mind that your total health program consists of many elements and those elements work together to help you deal with your health challenges. You can use hypnotherapy for twenty years, but if you smoke three packs of cigarettes a day and never get any exercise, you're not going to have an easy time of reducing the symptoms of your chronic bronchitis!
